Disney+ now has 50 million subscribers

Thanks to the newly opened regions in Western Europe, where Disney+ is now accessible, it has now surpassed 50 million subscribers.

The new regions include India, Germany, UK, Spain, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

Disney+ is still not available in East African regions.

The last number announced by Disney was 22 millions subscribers which wasn’t long ago. Jumping from 22 to 50 million is phenomenal in just two months.

Netflix currently dominates with its worldwide subscribers sitting at 167 million.

Kevin Mayer wrote,

We’re truly humbled that Disney+ is resonating with millions around the globe, and believe this bodes well for our continued expansion throughout Western Europe and into Japan and all of Latin America later this year,” said Kevin Mayer, Chairman of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International. “Great storytelling inspires and uplifts, and we are in the fortunate position of being able to deliver a vast array of great entertainment rooted in joy and optimism on Disney+.
