Microsoft’s Chief Product Officer – Panos Panay took to Instagram yesterday a photo he shared taken on the unreleased Surface Duo.
He writes, “Sharing a special moment captured on my Surface Duo. While I am working from home, Costas is learning from home. We’re sharing my office today, he’s studying for his CAL mid-term. It’s great for him to have tools like Windows and Surface to help him study in this time.“

This is probably the first time a photo is taken on a Surface Duo – Android phone and shared on the internet.
The picture quality is decent, not as bad as a lot of people on the internet have been saying. Granted, it does not seem to come close to likes of iPhone 11 Pro or the latest Galaxy S20, but a device primarily focusing on productivity first, this is a good starter. The top right has a bit of blurriness but overall it’s a decent photo.
Microsoft’s Surface Duo is expected to release later this year. There are no news around it being delayed due to the novel COVID-19 so far.
