In the last Edge update on iOS, Microsoft quietly updated Edge with Tracking Protection that is found in Windows 10 version of the Chromium based Edge browser.
If you head to Edge>Settings>Privacy & Security>Tracking Prevention you should see 3 new options:
- Basic
- Balanced (Recommended)
- Strict
My recommendation is to select either Balanced or even better, Strict. The major problem with the internet and browsers like Chrome is that they allow trackers to follow you on the internet. If you go to some website eg looking at Sneakers, and move on to another website. The ads you will now see will be related to Sneakers.
With Balanced/Strict option on, Edge tries to minimize this tracking of your browsing activity, something you cannot with Google’s Chrome.
Apart from Tracking, Edge now has Sync option of Passwords, favorites, and other data between Edge browsers.
