Earlier this year Facebook/WhatsApp had announced about Group Video and Voice calls coming to WhatsApp.

At any given time you can make a group call with up to four people from any location. To do so, initiate a video call how you normally would do, and from there you can keep adding new participants.

The blog also said there are over 2 billion minutes spent per day on calls.

Over the last couple years, people have enjoyed making voice and video calls on WhatsApp. In fact, our users spend over 2 billion minutes on calls per day. We’re excited to announce that group calls for voice and video are coming to WhatsApp starting today.

For iPhone users, Apple at WWDC had also announced about a similar feature in upcoming iOS 12 for their FaceTime app with support up to 32 users in a Group video call.
